There will be teams who need instant results, whether it’s to continue their push for the league title, a boost to stay in contention for a European place or experience to help them navigate away from the relegation zone, nearly every team has an area in their team which they could improve. 

But there will be clubs with long-term plans, those willing to wait until the summer to bring in the upgrades they may feel their squad needs.

However, a handful of teams will look to make their moves in January, but do so in preparation for the summer. It’s an ideal opportunity with players’ contracts coming to an end in June meaning they’re free to negotiate with clubs during the winter window.
