Kieron Dyer confessed he will be too shy to ask for Zinedine Zidane’s shirt after England’s Euro 2004 showdown with France. Newcastle midfielder Dyer, 25, revealed:

“In the Premiershp I try and get a mate’s shirt — Frank Lampard when we play Chelsea or Ashley Cole at Arsenal. I’ve got a big collection.

“After the big games a lot of people go for the best players’ shirts — but I’m just too embarrassed. If we played Real Madrid or someone I’d never dare ask for a shirt.

Dyer took a break between the end of the Premiership season with Newcastle and linking up with England — flying seven pals first-class out to Las Vegas.

“I’m lucky enough to be able to go out and spend a lot of money on a night out. I recently flew seven of my mates out to Vegas. We went to a restaurant and spent more than £5,000 on a meal and drinks in one night. It was one of the best nights I have ever had.

“It is brilliant there. But one of the best places I’ve been to is St Tropez. One summer we went to a club there. George Michael and Eddie Irvine were in there — then all these rich fellas came into the VIP bit with 14 supermodels around them. People were spraying champagne over everyone else. In Ipswich it would all kick off but there it was just funny.”
