YES FOLKS, HE'S STILL HERE
£7.5m Diego "one for the future" Forlan is still with us. Who was it who said "tomorrow never comes"?
From The Times:
United are ready to play a waiting game in an effort to find a cash buyer for Diego Forlán, despite claims from Levante, the Spanish club, that they are close to securing a season-long loan deal for the Uruguay forward.
Levante, promoted to the Spanish top flight in May, last night reported that they had been given the nod from Old Trafford to pursue a loan move for Forlán.
Manuel Salvador, the Levante director of sport, said: "We have a green light from Manchester. Now we must agree terms, which is never easy."
Atlético Madrid have also expressed an interest in taking the 25-year-old on loan, but United are prepared to take the gamble of waiting to find a buyer before the transfer window closes on August 31.
Fergie said:
"I'm sure they do want him on loan, but they won't be getting him."
