Blues face red zone parking ban
FOOTBALL fans will be hit with fines if they park in a massive "red zone" around Manchester City's new stadium on match days.
More than 200 streets in East Manchester will be turned into permit-only parking areas for an hour before a game kicks off and an hour after the final whistle.
Anyone without a residents' disc is likely to have a parking ticket slapped on their car.
There will be no road markings, but variable signs on all main roads will alert people when the restrictions are in force.
The scheme is the first of its kind to use variable signs, which will be changed before matches to tell people when restrictions are in force.
The council has warned: "Residents' parking will be enforced and subject to regular patrols at every home game."
