The Not For Sale coalition is calling on all United supporters to rally behind the NO CUSTOMER=NO PROFIT banner and march against any proposed takeover of the club by Malcolm Glazer.
As with the previous successful demonstration in February, the coalition is calling on Reds to meet on Warwick Road next to the cricket ground to march to the ground leaving at 4.30pm. The coalition is also taking the unprecedented step of asking supporters not to go in the ground.
IMUSA Chair Jules Spencer said:
"This is the last Saturday matchday opportunity for supporters to let any potential new owners and the current board know that supporters' loyalty can not be taken for granted."
He added:
"We realise it's asking a lot for people who have bought tickets not to use them, but we feel we have to take a stand, not only on Glazer but also on the current board's obscene ticket price rises"
A statement from Red Issue fanzine said:
"Polls on our website revealed overwhelming support amongst United fans for a boycott of this fixture. Although fans have already forked out for tickets to the game we believe that Reds should take a stand and show that their loyalty to United cannot be taken for granted by Glazer or anyone else. A complete boycott of the game is the ideal and would get the message across, but it's understandable that people may feel they want to watch some of the game in return for their money. In that case they can make their stand by leaving the game at halftime."
