WORTH THE WAIT

Gabriel Heinze has admitted that he wasn't sure about his future at United after arriving late at the beginning of the season. Speaking to the Mirror he said

"When I arrived in England there was a lot expected of me because so much had been said about the club waiting for me to arrive,"

"I was very calm because I did what I felt I had to do, which was represent my country in the Olympic Games.

"But if United had wanted to break my contract I would have accepted the
situation because I would have understood their reasons.

"That's why I wanted to prove to Sir Alex that he was right to wait for me. I
wanted to put in that extra effort for him because he put all of his trust in me. The manager and everyone at the club deserve the best I can give them. Everyone here has made me feel really welcome."
