Wolves show interest in out of favour Man Utd star

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a move to take Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Molineux in January, 90min understands.

The 25-year-old is set to leave Old Trafford in the new year, as revealed by 90min earlier this month, after falling out of favour under new United manager Erik ten Hag. The right back has managed just one brief substitute appearance for United so far this season.

United have now made it clear to Wan-Bissaka that he can find a new club, and he has attracted interest from home and abroad.

Former club Crystal Palace are amongst the clubs who have spoken to United, whilst the likes of West Ham and Leeds have also shown interest. However, sources have now confirmed to 90min that Wolves are leading the chase.

The former England Under-21 star has two years left on his contract following his £50m move to United in 2019. He was brought to the club during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure.

United are willing to let Wan-Bissaka leave on loan with a view to a permanent deal, and new Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui had made a new right-back one of his priorities since taking charge. Wolves are looking to provide real competition for Nelson Semedo, and have also been looking at options abroad.

Wolves have been tracking Real Valladolid's highly-rated teenager Ivan Fresneda - but now a deal for Wan-Bissaka looks a more likely scenario.

United boss Ten Hag is happy to sanction Wan-Bissaka's exit as he hopes to bring in a new right-back of his own during the January window.
