"But he's gone on to become a great leader and motivator, with experience at the very top level, so if anyone's going to become a top manager, you'd think it would be him.
"But it's dangerous to predict these things. I played with Mark Hughes at United and never thought for a minute he would become a manager.
"He was very quiet in training and always kept himself to himself. But he's gone on to do a great job with Wales and Blackburn."
