Moyes reluctantly sold the former Everton wonderkid to United after he snubbed a contract extension. With the arrival of RVP, Rooney?s stature in United?s squad has been decreasing week by week. With Moyes now in charge, these could well be Rooney?s last days with the Champions.
It?s recently been reported that United are now willing to listen to bids from other clubs, only considering those close to the ?25m mark. A number of clubs will surely take the England striker on, in hope they can revitalise that player who could rifle a strike from anywhere, and turn even the biggest teams upside down on his day ? week in, week out.
As of now, Chelsea seems to be Rooney?s destination. The Blues lack quality upfront and urgently need a goal scorer. Their talented midfield can provide, and if Rooney found form, it would be an unstoppable unit.
It has the potential to happen, if Falcao and Cavani prove too difficult to snap up.
Could Rooney make it abroad? He possesses the talent to tear up any defence, but, with no disrespect, he doesn?t seem the type to fit in to a different culture and learn a new language.
Bayern Munich and PSG have both expressed their interest. The ambitious French side have already brought in a few stars of their own. Rooney and Ibrahimovic sounds like a lethal duo and the new opportunity might tempt him, but will Ligue 1 attract Rooney amid reports that both Zlatan and Thiago Silva are looking for a way out in search of a real challenge.
Munich on the other hand have a galaxy of stars. If he were to move to the German champions, would he ever get a game? Munich are now one of the best, if not the best team, on the planet. Next season, under Guardiola, they?ll be going for every trophy possible. Rooney, in my opinion, hasn?t earned the right to play with such a star-studded force.
