The Reds suffered a setback on Monday night when they went down 2-1 at home to neighbours Man City thanks to a late goal from Sergio Aguero.
The result leaves United's lead at the top of the table cut down to twelve points with an away trip to the Britannia Stadium to take on struggling Stoke on Saturday.
Jones still remains confident of regaining the title though and is sure that they will be back to winning ways in the Potteries this weekend.
He told reporters: "We have to keep our heads up because we are still in a fantastic position.
"The lads deserve an enormous amount of credit and hopefully we can go on and win the league.
"We have to get back on the training pitch and do what we do best - recover. I am sure we will."
