WEATHER WARNING

'England's preparations for tomorrow's match against Nigeria could be seriously affected by the weather following reports that a typhoon is heading for Osaka and there will be intense heat and humidity in the stadium.

Typhoon Noguri is more than 100 miles off the Japanese coast and is expected to pass over the north of Osaka, which will affect weather conditions in the region.

The England team base is on Awaji island, less than an hour from Osaka. Last night torrential rain and high winds hit the island, prompting fears that if they continued the bridge to the Japanese mainland may have to be closed and the team left stranded,' reports the Guardian.

'According to forecasters, the temperature will be 30C with 77% humidity,
double that for England's first game against Sweden in Saitama.

Other matches at risk from the weather are today's games between Ireland
and Saudi Arabia and Germany and Cameroon.'
