The Sun reports that Beckham wants United to play England for his testimonial match so he can raise £2million for sick kiddies. A "pal" is quoted:

"David is talking to England manager Sven Goran Eriksson. Becks will play for United and the money will go to kids' charities. He was really touched by Kirsty's [the girl at the Greece game] bravery."

The Sun concludes: "Experts believe the gesture could help Becks get a knighthood," which if true will have us all reaching for the sick bucket.
