From The People:
A source close to the France team revealed last night: "The one thing that kept Patrick at Arsenal all this time was the fantastic atmosphere and spirit among the players.
"But that atmosphere is no longer the same after what happened within the French squad at Euro 2004. It is not very good at all, in fact.
"There were rumours at Euro 2004 of a power struggle between Zinedine Zidane and the Arsenal players.
"That wasn't quite right. In fact, Patrick disagreed with Henry and Pires and he was very disappointed with the way things turned out.
"Of course, he wants to do better in the Champions League but he no longer feels the way he did about his French team-mates.
"And that has tipped him away from Arsenal. Arsene Wenger is a fine psychologist, but this might be beyond his powers."
