United Want Stam Payments From Lazio

Manchester United have called in FIFA to solve the embargo over the Jaap Stam transfer to Lazio. Stam made a shock switch to the Rome gianst last August for a fee of £16 million which was due to be paid in installments.

United received the first £4 million but a further £3 million which should have been paid back in January arrived late. Red Devils chief David Gill confirmed "We are talking to FIFA about how we get the money back".

Stam hyas had a somewhat poor season and has spent several months on the sidelines because he tested positive for the banned substance nandralone.

Kevin Keegan is intrested in the former PSV star though the Manchester City boss will be looking to shore up his defence this summer as City look set for the Premierhsip, a £10 million fee has been touted.
