The Uruguayan international delivered an ultimatum earlier last week where he threatened to leave if the situation was not resolved and it seems he had his response.
The manager Blanc has preferred to play Cavani on the left wing and has made it clear that he will not compromise his tactics for any individual with the Daily Mail reporting:
There is a problem with Cavani’s behaviour but my job is to think of the entire squad as a collective’ said Blanc.
“We did hold a staff meeting and among the various issues we discussed were Cavani and his complaints.
“The desires of the individual can’t affect the rest of the team.
“I believe that he can score here but I understand if he wants to consider other career opportunities.”
Cavani arrived from Napoli for £55 million but it's unlikely that any Premier League club would match that figure and their would be concerns that the same complaints would arise from Cavani
It is understood that Arsenal need cover for the injured Welbeck and van Gaal would equally be looking for support rather than a main man.
Cavani does still represent a compelling option and despite playing in a position he doesn't favour he has still returned 13 goals from his 24 appearances, it will be hard to ignore the value of those goals in the second half of the season.
ESPN state today that Cavani's agent is now in England sounding out potential interested parties for the 28-year-old.
