Liverpool took a 1-0 lead against Everton when Stephen Gerrard netted in the 68th minute but Tim Cahill equalised for Everton with just three minutes of normal time remaining.

The 1-1 draw at Anfield means that United hold on to top spot in the Premier League table over Liverpool on goal difference and with a game in hand on the chasing pack.
