2003 US TOUR: DATES, VENUES AND OPPOSITION CONFIRMED
The tour opens on July 22 in Seattle, where United will play Glasgow Celtic at the Seahawks Stadium. It continues in Los Angeles with a fixture against Club América of Mexico on July 27 at the Coliseum.
The team will then fly to the East Coast to meet Juventus at Giants Stadium, just outside New York, on July 31. The tour will wrap up with a game against Barcelona on August 3 at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. It will be the first sports event held at the city's spectacular new stadium.
Peter Kenyon, chief executive of Manchester United, said: "Everyone at the club is looking forward to the tour. We'll be taking over all our top players, and the quality of the opposition means American fans will get the chance to watch some world-class football. We know the sport has a large and passionate following in the States, especially among young people, and we hope the tour generates even more excitement about the beautiful game."
Tickets for the tour will go on sale in early 2003. Full details will be announced in due course.
