Manchester United museum are delighted to announce the
exhibition of ‘The Art of the Game’ by renowned Manchester
artist Michael J. Browne.

First displayed in Manchester in 1997 this impressive painting,
based on the works of two Renaissance greats – Piero della
Francesca and Andrea Mantegna - features Eric Cantona
surrounded by team-mates and his manager, Alex Ferguson.

This controversial depiction of United’s former captain became
an incredibly popular exhibit during its two-week stay at the
City Art Gallery in 1997. Over 14,000 visitors saw the
painting during the two weeks at the gallery.

Now is the chance for all United fans to see this impressive
painting during a rare appearance in this country. ‘The Art of
the Game’ will only be on display in this country at Manchester
United’s Museum until the end of August 2003. It will then be
returning to a private collection in France.
