The Bulgaria international striker will be sidelined for another two weeks with the ankle injury he sustained during United's last league match against Fulham.
Berbatov's injury will be of some concern to manager Alex Ferguson who will also be without fellow striker Wayne Rooney for the game against Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday because of suspension.
However, Carlos Tevez is expected to have arrived back in sufficient time from international duty with Argentinia.
"I think he gets back from Mars about 4pm," joked Fergie in his Friday press talk.
"If he's okay, at least I've got one striker! I'll just have to choose who I play alongside him.
"With the extra day's rest after the internationals, I'm confident we can get a fit team together."
