United have agreed the transfer of the French centre back from Italian champions with the 29 year old expected in England this week to agree terms and have a medical.Thuram has been considering an offer from Manchester United for the past two months.The player's agent Oscar Damiani said last month the French star "can go" to United after the World Cup finals.

The centre back is a target for United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to replace retiring French veteran Laurent Blanc.
