Kinnear resigned yesterday after coming under heavy criticism from the terraces after a string of poor performances this from The Guardian:
Micky Adams is among the frontrunners to take over at Nottingham Forest after Joe Kinnear's resignation as manager yesterday. The vacancy will also interest Stuart Pearce, Manchester City's assistant manager.
'Pearce would be the popular vote with supporters, particularly as he would want Nigel Clough, Burton Albion's manager and the son of the late Brian Clough, to be his No2. Adams, who left Leicester City this season, has made his interest known, but Forest's owner Nigel Doughty will also give serious consideration to allowing Mick Harford (Kinnear's number two) his first stab at management.
