Sir Alex Ferguson released 19 year old defender Sean McGinty the other day ?by mutual consent?. Even though Sir Alex has decided to retire, he hasn?t left the building just yet and young Mr. McGinty can now brag to his friends that the one and only Sir Alex sack him.
So, what else is Sir Alex working on before he turns the reigns over to David Moyes? The first thing that will have to be done is to deal with the Wayne Rooney issue. If Rooney is to be moved, most rumors have him staying within the Premier League. It doesn?t make sense to sell him to a BPL competitor. It is more likely that he would be part of a trade or sold outright to another league altogether. A good bet might be France where free spending PSG or Monaco might be willing to part with a substantial transfer fee. He could also be off to one of the top teams of the Bundesliga.
The deal to get Cristiano Ronaldo to come back home isn?t quite dead either. Sir Alex may not be the boss anymore, but he still is in the front office and that might be close enough for Ronaldo. Throw in Danny Welbeck or Javier Hernandez and it could be a done deal.
With Wilfried Zaha soon to arrive, it may be time for Nani and Anderson to be on their way out. Both came to United together in 2007, it is only fitting that they leave together. Both should find good homes and bring a decent transfer price. Though the midfield is full of good players, they are still lacking someone to pair with Michael Carrick. This has been the Achilles heel for the last few years. With Paul Scholes retiring again there is no one currently there to fill the void.
The season is done and the trophy has been presented; it is now time to take that holiday before the summer transfer window opens and the fun begins.
