Contract talks have been on-going for weeks now according to Villa boss Paul Lambert, who is trying to pen the Belgian to an improved contract which doesn?t run out until 2016. However, the prolific striker told Belgian media outlet Nieuwsblad that he wants to better his career and feels he can only do that away from Villa Park. ?If Aston Villa says I must stay, I won?t necessarily accept that.? Benteke stated on his arrival to England that he dreamed of playing for Arsenal and with the recent comments it sounds like a come and get me plea to several top European clubs.
Wayne Rooney
Sources close to Chelsea suggest that Roman Abramovich would be prepared to bid in the region of ?30m and match Rooney?s staggering ?250,000 a week. The striker is also being closely watched by Paris Saint-Germain who are one of the few clubs in the footballing world that could afford the Englishman. Abramovich refuses to be outbid by the French side and pretty much rules out Arsenal?s interest in Rooney.
Marouane Fellaini
The Belgian has already refused to rule out a move away from Merseyside this summer. David Moyes was the man to bring the midfielder to the Premier league and according to the 25-year-old he will only join a club where the manager really wants him. This sounds like another come and get me plea and at the age of 25 this would be the perfect time to challenge himself at a bigger club. Fellaini feels he owes a lot to Moyes and I wouldn?t be surprised if this becomes Moyes? first signing at Manchester United.
Edinson Cavani
The past few seasons has seen the talented Uruguayan linked with several English clubs but maybe next season will be his breakthrough in the Premier league. Napoli have revealed that they have started negotiations to agree a deal with Manchester City for Cavani. The striker has a ?50m buyout clause but according to sources close to the clubs they have both agreed to include Edin Dzeko in the deal. Manchester City have struggled for goals this season and signing Cavani could help the blue side of Manchester get their hands back on the title. Cavani has netted over 30 goals in each of his last three seasons during his time at Napoli and may feel at the age of 26 it is time to push for more silverware than he could achieve in Naples.
