"It's cheap.
"Our chief executive David Gill has been speaking to Tevez's agent and has told him we do want to arrange a permanent deal.
"He has impressed everyone and his appetite to play has been terrific.
"What has surprised me is his hunger to play. He is always on the go, he's aggressive in a good way in challenging for the ball - he stands up for himself.
"Those suggestions [too similar to Rooney] didn't stop me. We had visions of playing Rooney up front anyway because he has the strength, he has the vision, he has the feet for it.
"So I was never concerned about how they would play together. I never had any doubts and there was never any uncertainty in my mind."
