Keith Harris, the former Football League chairman, has dismissed reports that he is planning to launch a takeover bid for reigning Premier League champions Manchester United.

Harris, told The Daily Telegraph:
'I have absolutely no idea where these stories have come from. I'm not involved in putting together any bid for Manchester United.'

Newspaper reports over the weekend suggested that Harris, a longstanding United supporter, was planning a bid worth around 160p per share, valuing the club at about £450 million.
