TAKEOVER SPECULATION

Glazer, who owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers American football franchise, has increased his stake in United to 14.31%, prompting fears of a takeover at Old Trafford.

Chief exec Gill who had a meeting with Glazer last week said.

"We had an excellent meeting with Malcolm and his two sons. We talked a lot about what we can achieve and how to go about it. He sees the shares as a good investment and that was the end of the discussion. It was very positive but there have been no discussion about his intentions for the future."
