This from The Sunday Mirror:
Manchester United will sign former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars in the summer if they fail to land Harry Kewell.
Leeds star Kewell is set for vital contract talks with Elland Road chief Peter Ridsdale this week, and his reluctance to put pen to paper on a new four-year deal worth £48,000 a week has increased speculation the 22-year-old will move to Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign.
Barcelona fear Overmars will take the Bosman route out in 2004 and are therefore prepared to accept around £8.5m for a player they paid £25.5m for.
Although Liverpool and Rangers are continuing to monitor situation, United are confident they can see off any competition.
The imminent moves by Sir Alex Ferguson prove United are now prepared to offload Ryan Giggs to Inter Milan in the summer.
