‘The gang pinned him against a wall, wrenched the diamond-encrusted watch from his wrist — then threw him down stairs. The £30,000-a-week star then gave chase through Mayfair accompanied by two bouncers.
‘Superfit Yorke pursued the panting robbers along Piccadilly before catching them after 800 yards at nearby Green Park Underground station. The bouncers and a group of Tube maintenance workers helped him hold the mugger who had his watch. Fuming Yorke grabbed back the Rolex. He then strolled to his silver Mercedes and left the scene before police arrived.’
