Steve McManaman is confident that Real will beat United and go on to lift the European Cup again but first he wants to say that he plays for a big club:
'This is the biggest club in the world, without a doubt, we're the biggest club with the biggest players and no one can argue with that. Trophy-wise we've won more than anyone else and no one can argue with that,’ he told the Sunday Mirror.
'The team we've got over the last three or four years is phenomenal, arguably the best side of all time. In terms of economics, United can claim they are the richest club in the world but you don't know what goes on at our place because United are a plc and their financial standing is public knowledge.’
If the game was about shooting your mouth of then United had better stay at home this week:
'I have to say we'll win this time. I'm extremely optimistic - with the team we've got you can't help but be confident. To be honest we're not bothered how well they play. No disrespect to them, it's just that we play our own way and nobody frightens us. I'm not dismissing United as a threat. Ruud van Nistelrooy, Juan Sebastian Veron and Rio Ferdinand are fantastic players but I would never swap those three with Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo.'
