"There seems to be a doubt about Barthez's performances in
very big games which I think has let him down. Immediately
after the Real Madrid game, when United were knocked out of
the Champions League, Barthez was out and in came Roy
Carroll to finish the season.
"It's surprising when you consider Barthez has won the World
Cup, but for the big games I think Sir Alex feels he might
have let United down. He needs someone in those big pressure
games, the ones that matter, someone who can stand up to the
pressure.
"With the rumours going around and the apparent involvement
of Barthez in the failed Ronaldinho deal, it looks as though
he is the one who is going to be moving on."
