"We have ended up with 12 players out. The injuries to Saha, Vidic and O'Shea upset our rhythm and didn't make it easy for us.
"But what was significant was the performances of the players who came in. Simpson, Anderson and Pique were outstanding.
"If we are to win something it will be by using the whole squad. And I am confident with the squad I have got here - the ones who stepped in showed why. I'm proud of them.
"I'm glad of the break but some of the injuries who are even longer term. Hopefully Darren Fletcher should be back training on Monday which is good news, Hargreaves should be available in two or three weeks time, and Michael Carrick is out for six weeks. But we won't be seeing Silvestre, Park and Foster until next year."
