SOME GOOD NEWS

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to be fit again in time for next season. In an interview with Manchester United Radio he said:

"I'm looking forward to putting the shirt on again,"

"You can't take these things for granted and I know that there's light at the end of the tunnel now.

"The surgeon has been very pleased with my progress and providing I don't do anything daft in my recovery, I hopeful I'll be back in August.

"I've started jogging and doing some light juggling with the ball. I've not played with any opponents yet but it's just good to be able to kick a ball. The running is the main problem but that will gradually improve.

"I can't kid you and say that I haven't been down a couple of times," he adds.

"But that's nothing if you compare it to what other players have been through.

"I'm okay at the moment - I just keep looking forward and try to take the positives out of it. The support I've received has been great and I thank everyone for that."

Despite this season's long-term injury set-back, the Norwegian is convinced he still has plenty more years left in him yet.

"Knee-permitting I'd like to play for as long as Teddy Sheringham has! You make sure you play at this club for as long as you possibly can, providing your fitness and performance allows you to do that.

"If the gaffer wants me to stay, that's what I want too."
