"They have sung my name so many times when I have been sat in the stand it has become a little embarrassing. It is so nice to be back on the pitch again and to score in front of the Stretford End is particularly special.
"I can believe it is happening because I set realistic targets along the way.
"With the patience the manager, the players and the staff have shown me, it was just a matter of time before I reached them.
"I certainly never felt the urge to retire. Obviously, when you are injured for so long, you have some dark days but I always I had the belief I could get back to contributing to the squad.
"That is what I hope to do this season."
