"I love playing for Manchester United and I love being a striker. It is where I was brought up as a player.
"In truth, it was a bit of a stop-gap job by the gaffer to put me in midfield last year.
"When he signed me, he said I was the youngest centre-forward he had ever bought, so I think he has always seen me as a striker.
"Now I just want to concentrate on my football and start repaying all those people who have helped me and the well-wishers who have backed me to get where I am now."
Benfica:
"I had to check myself on Tuesday to make sure I didn't just run round like an idiot.
"There are always challenges to face, and this was just another one. The next is to get back to where I was before, force my way into the team and win some honours at this club.
"I thought I was ready but really, I was miles off.
"Over the last two weeks I have made an extra step but although it was a sweet moment when I got on the field on Tuesday, I realise I must be patient.
"It is a gradual process. I still need to get those little touches back. You don't walk into this team at any time, especially when you have been out for seven months.
"During this comeback, I have loved playing more than I did before.
"It is like starting all over again and I am definitely more hungry than I have ever been in my life.
"I wouldn't say it has been hard. There were times when I was down, when your rehabilitation levels out and you don't see any improvement for a bit - but suddenly it just clicks again and off you go.
"There was never a moment when I thought 'this is it'.
"The day after the accident, I was lying in hospital, with my leg back in place and everything was sorted. From that moment on, my focus has solely been on playing again."
