THERE was much excitement at the BBC and ITN the other day when Sky News broadcast a news flash saying David Beckham was going to be giving a press conference that evening about the missing girls from Soham.
Producers excitedly booked camera crews and made plans to cover the event live, only to cancel them when they discovered that the real star of the press conference was to be the marginally less crowd-pleasing Acting Superintendent David Beck.
