"I think he's had a fantastic offer from the club and there will be another meeting soon between Rio's agent and David Gill. From what I can gather, that will happen very soon. We're going to China next Wednesday and we want to be going there ready for the new season. We want to do our pre-season work out there and be ready for the Champions League.
"And we want everyone who is at this club now to remain at the club. That could be solidified by Rio signing his new contract and I hope he does."
