RVN scored again to make it 2-0 to Holland but the Czechs came back to win 3-2 as Poborsky made the winner for Smicer. Nedved was superb in the best match of the tourny so far. Latvia scorted a 0-0 draw with Germany.
The Czech Republic are the first qualifiers from the Beer Group. Holland must beat Latvia now and hope that Germany don't beat the Czechs. Latvia will hope they can still qualify if they beat Holland and Germany don't beat the Czechs. However a bizarre set of results can see Latvia qualify with two points.
RVN: "We were 2-0 up and the Czechs made a change, a midfielder for a defender. After that we were not able to adjust and the match went out of our control.
"We played five times better (than in the 1-1 draw with Germany). We should never have let the game slip out of our hands. That was totally unnecessary.
"In the second half we came under pressure and weren't able to get out any more. They had a lot of chances but even then we had some ourselves."
