‘Injuries
David Beckham's got a calf injury and he's been withdrawn from the England squad and is struggling for next Wednesday. Ruud's OK. He got a knock but he'll be fine.
Experience-wise, Fabien's great and Nicky does a great job for us. He and Rio will join the England team tomorrow. The two injury concerns and Paul Scholes and David Beckham though.
Paul Scholes is not one hundred percent, but he plays in such a vital position for us that he's an important link. He'll get better and once he's rid of the niggling injuries he'll get better and we'll get more goals.
Needed a second goal
We weren't comfortable at 1-0. It only takes a second to lose a goal, half a yard of space and someone has a shot. it could have been embarrassing. But I thought we defended very well. I felt we showed good determination and we deserved the victory.
The penalty
If Ehiogu hadn't pulled him he wouldn't have lost his balance and you would expect Ruud to score from there.
Red card or yellow card?
The rules are all changing. Wright-Phillips was sent off on Saturday when there was a Manchester City defender in sight, and you get others who don't get sent off. I don't know.
Ruud van Nistelrooy
Ruud is still to hit top form, but if we create chances he'll deal with them.
1-0 win
If you look back at the years we've won the League, half a dozen 1-0s have won us titles.
The pitch
We're always concerned about the pitch, looking for signs of problems. We'll be checking the pitch after games to keep on top of problems.’
