SCOUSE RAGE

Des Kelly looks at the clash of two Scousers in the
Mirror:

‘Phil Thompson, the Anfield coach, has been getting
typically agitated, this time about some on-air criticism of
the club by Ian St John for Sky Sports.

‘After the 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford, a clearly
disappointed St John said: "This is our worst season in
living memory."

‘Thompson hit back, claiming: "It's particularly hurtful
when you see comments from ex-players, notably Ian St John.
I take great exception to what he said. He described Gerard
Houllier as 'the Frenchman' and cannot even bring himself to
call the Liverpool manager by his name. That's unfair and
personal."

‘The Scotsman soon put in another tackle in this hugely
entertaining spat. He said: "Thommo should remember his
previous job as a Sky Sports pundit when HE had an opinion
on everything. My advice to him would be to get on with the
job he is paid for - coaching. He could start with shooting
practice."
