Our correspondent in Spain reports:

Sports paper AS reports that UEFA sold 10,000 of the 14,000
tickets that they have available for the UEFA Cup Final in
Seville's Olympic stadium in just one week.

Four out of every five tickets sold were to English
applicants which the paper attributes to high expectations
amongst Scousers that they will reach the final.

Real Madrid beat Villareal 1-0 with last kick of match. They
must win in Moscow, which they have never done before, to be
sure of progressing to the Champions League quarter final.

However a draw might be good enough if Milan beat Dortmund.

The Valencia/Arsenal match takes place on March 19, which is
the ‘Dia de San Jose.’ San Jose is patron saint of Valencia
and the city is the scene of 'Las Fallas' a weeklong fiesta
of fireworks, gunpowder explosions and paellas. It
culminates in the burning of immense (30m high) bonfires at
midnight on March 19.
