The Newcastle midfielder has been watching Scholes in
training, and he is impressed. Afterwards he said: "People
say `Are you frustrated about getting no chance with England
in your favourite position?' My answer is `After seeing Paul
Scholes in training again today, he is on a different
planet'.
"He is the best attacking midfielder we've got in the centre
of midfield. If you are talking about a football brain, he
has got so much more upstairs than any other England player.
David Beckham is up there as well.”
Dyer realizes that the only chance he has of breaking into
the team is if Scholes is forced to miss a game:
"He does get a few suspensions and you are hopeful you are
the next in line.
"If he got injured and another midfielder was picked, then I
would be frustrated but not at the moment.”
