SCHOLES INJURES HIS KNEE

The United midfielder was on the end of some nasty challenges against Ajax on Friday and has flown home for the damage to be assessed.

A scan on Monday should reveal the extent of the problem, although when he left Scholes suggested he was relatively optimistic.

Fergie said: "He will have a scan on his knee in the morning and if there are any doubts, he will then have an arthroscopy."
