After being turned down by Gillingham former Red Andrei Kanchelskis has
gone to Southampton in an effort to keep fit.

Saints boss Gordon Strachan told the club's official website:

"It is just a favour to him really. He made the approach and asked if he could
train here and I was more than willing to do that.

"He is someone I know and it is simply a case of letting a good player train
with us. It is not really with a view to making it permanent."
