Roy Keane was not in a celebratory mood on Friday evening, blasting England centre-back Harry Maguire for his 'embarrassing' celebration in the victory over Albania.
Maguire, who has struggled at club level with Manchester United this season, headed home England's opener on the night and celebrating by cupping his hands to his ears, before blocking his ears and pulling out a meaty knee-slide.
It wasn't good enough to win Keane over, however, and the ITV pundit did not hide his disgust at half-time.
“He thinks he’s shutting the critics up," Keane said. "But I think It’s embarrassing.
"He’s been a disgrace the last couple months for Man Utd. He thinks if he scores there, he’s going to shut his critics up. Embarrassing.”
Maguire has undeniably struggled at United this season, but he is just one of many players to be underperforming in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, with left-back Luke Shaw just as guilty.
Fortunately for the centre-back, he had a solid game against a poor Albania side, rarely needing to do any actual defending and popping up in the right moment to give his side an early lead.
It was another Harry who stole the headlines this time. Tottenham talisman Kane plundered a perfect first-half hat-trick to set England up for an emphatic victory, with Jordan Henderson chipping in with the remaining goal.
The comfortable victory effectively sealed England's spot as winners of their group. They need just a point against lovable underdogs San Marino next time out to book themselves a spot at the 2022 World Cup, but anything less than an emphatic victory would come as a huge surprise.
