The England international has been warned as to his future conduct by the Football Association after he was seen mouthing the words "12 men" into the camera after the defeat against Chelsea who had twelve men on their side including the ref.
Match referee Martin Atkinson had earlier booked Rooney for protesting about Chelsea's controversial winner.
An FA spokesman confirmed: "Wayne Rooney has been warned as to his future conduct following remarks made yesterday."
