WAYNE Rooney turned into Wayne CROONy to celebrate his 22nd birthday - and "murdered" a string of classic songs.
The Man United ace took the microphone from a professional singer at a swanky restaurant and launched into his own version of R&B classic Mustang Sally.
Then Roo treated his guests to Hey Jude by THE BEATLES and UB40's I Got You Babe.
A passer-by who heard him at Manchester's Lounge 10 said: "He was absolutely murdering some classic tunes.
"There was quite a gathering of people outside listening to him singing . . . and it wasn't great."
He shunned the usual posh menu of sautéed scallops with cucumber spaghetti, or roast ostrich fillet with yam purée.
Instead, he ordered chefs to prepare for his guests the choice of chicken and chips, steak and chips or fish and chips.
The multi-millionaire hired a singer to entertain the party which included his fiancée COLEEN McLOUGHLIN, sporting a 70s-style FARRAH FAWCETT-MAJORS hairdo.
A source said: "Lounge 10 is top-notch but he wanted a different set menu to the ones on offer.
"It was a bit like a kids' birthday spread."
