‘FIFPro, whose chairman is Gordon Taylor, chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, are the world-wide representative organisation for professional footballers.
‘The FIFPro Academy Young Player of the Year award chosen by the 38,000 professional footballers belonging to 40 professional associations around the world, went to Rooney while the Young Player of the Year, a special award voted for by fans around the world, was won by Ronaldo.’
