“It hasn’t taken me by surprise at all as we’ve seen it so many times before,” Stack said. “I said when I was arrested that I wasn’t the first and wouldn’t be the last and lo and behold a few weeks later another player has been arrested.
“I hope for Ronaldo’s sake that his case doesn’t go as far as mine did, which dragged on far too long, and I’m sure it won’t. It’s happened so many times that people go to the press before they report the incident to the police, which calls into question their motives. I’m sure the police will deal with it in the right manner and it could all be over in a few days.”
Ronaldo is expected to be questioned by police again next week.
