Ferguson has said he was never worried Ronaldo would leave despite all the speculation surrounding his future.
"I was never nervous about it because I was sure the boy wanted to sign for us. He told me he was happy and he wanted to stay and wanted to sign," he told the official mag.
"I was reassured by the simple fact that I knew the boy was happy here. He knows he's at the right club."
"These days negotiations are always long because agents know they can play the long game and that, I suppose, is where the fans get nervous because these things take time. Now he can concentrate on his football and relax."
