RONALDO SPEAKS
And any United fan who believes Rooney wouldn't have done similar is deluded, they're all mercenaries together – just ask any Everton fan. They were his 'boyhood heroes' apparently. What was the line, “once a blue, always a blue”?
Ronaldo:
"Why would I feel sorry for Wayne? I don't feel sorry for him. People are saying the referee gave a red card because I asked him to show a red card but that is not true.
"It was not my fault. I don't care who says that - I didn't get him sent off. I complained to the referee about the foul but I didn't ask for a red card. I said 'ref this is foul' but I did not say 'red card' because Wayne is my friend and I play at the same team.
"I spoke with Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville and they did not have a problem. I did not get the chance to speak to Wayne - but I will telephone him."
Meanwhile in the Daily Mail:
Ramon Calderon last night claimed victory in the Real Madrid presidential election — but the result could still be settled in the courts.
Reports in Spain said Calderon had polled 200 votes more than Juan Palacios with Juan Miguel Villar Mir — who claimed to have reached an agreement to sign Portugal's Ronaldo — in third place.
Villar Mir was threatening legal action in a bid to overturn a Spanish judge's decision not to include around 8,000 postal votes amid allegations of vote rigging.
